New Product Placement Services

Distribution and Logistics Support

To support of a successful product launch, Imperia offers numerous services to companies seeking import/export, distribution and logistics assistance. Imperia will:

  1. determine the distribution support that will best fit the needs of the company (ie use base warehouse or ship to satellites, etc.) and which meet all NHPD regulations.
  2. ensure clients have the appropriate documentation for import/export activities.
  3. provide NAFTA support and custom brokerage support
  4. ensure that a client’s product moves to its destination as smooth as possible.
  5. offer sales assistance as needed to support successful product launch

Imperia will work closely with clients to create the most simplistic, cost effective distribution and logistics solutions.

 

Customs Brokerage Support

Companies moving product across the border require the services of customs brokers -- the private individuals and companies licensed, regulated and empowered by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in the US or the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) in Canada to assist importers and exporters in meeting federal requirements governing imports and exports. Brokers submit necessary information and appropriate payments to CBP or CBSA on behalf of their clients and charge them a fee for this service.

Given the complexities involved, Imperia assists client companies to:

  1. source the most appropriate custom broker to meet their needs,
  2. negotiate the most competitive flat rates
  3. fill out export/Import documents correctly
  4. select appropriate tariff/harmonization codes for products that do not qualify for tariff elimination under NAFTA. By ensuring that customs brokers are classifying products correctly, Imperia can save a client thousands of dollars annually in fees.
  5. work directly with brokers weekly or monthly to ensure proper classifications and billing.
  6. work directly with brokers and CBP/CBSA agents to ensure proper and timely delivery of the shipment

 

NAFTA Support

As of 1994, the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) eliminated tariffs on all qualifying products traded between the United States, Canada, and Mexico. NHPs qualify for tariff elimination if they are produced from domestically sourced components or if they undergo sufficient domestic processing (if foreign components are used).

Imperia will assist companies with appropriate documentation to qualify for tariff elimination under NAFTA. This will ensure that all eligible imports/exports move through customs in a timely fashion.
